I provide therapeutic services with a primary focus on cognitive behavioral therapy and the neurobiology of trauma and attachment experiences. I work with people to process experiences in a safe structured manner and help them identify and manage their emotional and physiological state through increasing authenticity and the confidence to express it, and their ability to set healthy boundaries.
I employ a variety of evidenced based therapies which are helpful for regulating the brain, body and nervous system, improving the overall ability to manage stress. I use sensory rich integrative approaches such as art, bilateral stimulation, resource installation, somatic/body movement work, mindfulness, and meditation to bring awareness to the felt experience in a safe structured approach.
Counseling can be beneficial to individuals who are looking to strengthen their overall health. Stress is a normal experience in life, understanding it can have many benefits. Symptoms of emotion dysregulation such as depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common things people experience when stress becomes unhealthy. I focus on helping people understand and effectively respond to stress.
Trauma can be defined as any experience which overwhelms an individual’s capacity to cope combined with a felt sense of loss of control. I work with people to increase tolerance of stressful experiences and to rebuild a felt sense of safety within the body's nervous system, supporting their overall capacity to self-regulate, recognize and tolerate emotion, and process trauma energy safely and effectively.
